Our Story

Sue and Darren moved from Broadstairs Kent to Islay in 2021, along with Nala their beautiful cat. 

Like many people covid and covid lockdowns changed how we looked at life, moving to Scotland had always been a dream of ours and having holidayed in Scotland, Islay/Jura for several years, we took the exciting but scary decision to re-locate to Scotland, to our surprise and amazement we secured work and a home on Islay and just a few months later found ourselves on the ferry going to our new home! 

Sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith as scary as it is.

Every day we still appreciate the beauty and wonder that Islay has to offer.

From the stunning scenery to the Whisky distilleries, the incredible wildlife and the wonderful people. 

 We are living our dream and appreciate how lucky we are.

We are frequently in awe that red deer are often walking past our house and sometimes visit our garden (although they do eat our plants), birds of prey hover in the skies above us, otters and seals are in the bay behind us, and have been lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on several occasions from our gardens.
